Handwriting is an art that helps children learn muscle control as well as hand and eye coordination. Handwriting also helps to develop children’s fine motor skills, confidence as well as their own style of writing.

Birlik International School held two handwriting competitions one in English and in Portuguese for all its students in the month of February 2018. All students from grade 0 to grade 7 took part in these two competitions. The primary motive behind these competitions was to improve the children’s writing skills by motivating them to enthusiastically participate in these competitions. Judging of winners was based on font formation, uniformity, and illegibility, connectivity, joining of words as well as overall presentation and neatness. Though there was stiff competition between students only three winners were chosen from each class. Well done to all the students who participated and did not make it in the top three, you gave off your best and you all deserve a pat on the back for a job well done! There were a total of 72 awards, 36 for English and 36 for Portuguese. The school director presented the awards to the winners.
